Relax Wheelchair Cushions

Introducing… Innovative seating solutions Redistribute weight and provide excellent pressure relief Reduce shear and friction Comfortable – better posture control Suitable for wheelchair users and those with restricted mobility

Decubitus Prophylaxis Vigilance and ensuring use of appropriate products is key to pressure ulcer prevention Preventative measures are more humane and more cost effective Pressure Mapping for each range well within the recommended guidelines

Pressure Mapping Force Sensitive Applications. FSA is a clinical tool. Evaluates and maps the interface pressure between a person and the support surface Provides information in an easily interpreted graphical format. Protocol ensures that accurate representations of body form and body mass are applied when using the apparatus Enables us to design, develop and evaluate effectively Pressure mapping results available on request

Interface Pressure Reducing the pressure on capillaries at the interface between the user and the support surface

Pressure Mapping demonstrates how pressure is redistributed with use of Gelcell Cushion Interface pressure shoud be less than 32mmHg.

Redistribution of Pressure Why do we use Gel? “Studies comparing the pressure-reducing abilities of standard foam to gel (i. e. visco-elastic polymer) have found gel to be more effective” Why do we use Foam & Gel? Another study found that foam and gel are also effective for preventing both skin changes and pressure sore formation” (2008 Preoperative Standards and Recommended Practices AORN Inc)

FeaturesBenefits Gel SurfaceReduce shear and redistribute pressure Reduces heat 34 Interconnected Air Filled Cushions Connected cells facilitate pressure relief. Aid circulation Easy to Inflate and adjust Can be adjusted differently to suit user Impermeable PU filmAntibacterial. Easy to clean. Very durable LightweightEasy to manage and transport

FeaturesBenefits In addition to gelcell features In addition to gelcell benefits 48 Cells. 24 cells interconnected on each side Allows more even pressure relief and better balance Contoured design to rear of cushion Allows horizontal allignment of thigh bones with pelvis Larger number of cells Allows greater airflow around cells.Reduces heat. Aids circulation Increased number of gel cells Aids redistribution of pressure

Advantages of Combining Air & Gel Air + Gel combination lowers peak pressures over smaller areas Air + Gel combination reduces sweating and dampness. Air + Gel combination has a double layer of film for added durability. It is less likely to burst In the event of cell punctures, the user will be sitting on a layer of pressure relieving gel, unlike regular air cushions

Advantages of Air & Gel versus Foam… Gel-filled supports address some of the problems inherent in foam Gel supports the patient evenly across the horizontal plain without breaking down over time Gel is designed to simulate the composition of human fatty tissue. This helps to reduce the sheer and friction that contribute to pressure sores. Gel doesn't have the insulating properties of foam.

Duogel FeaturesBenefits FloGel combined with Visco elastic foam in ischial area Reduces shearing forces and protects ischial tuberosities TruGel incorporated into thigh troughs Medial and lateral thigh support PU Film Cover.Very hygienic. Easy to clean Lightweight Durable Easy to manage and transport

Easy FeaturesBenefits Top and bottom outer layer of visco elastic foam Easy to use. Fully rotational. Middle layer of FloGel Reduces shear and facilitates pressure redistribution Combination of visco elastic foam and FloGel Conforms to the shape of the user. Increases contact surface area Lightweight PU Film Coating Easy to manage

Trio FeaturesBenefits Top layer of visco elastic foam Conforms to user shape. Increases surface area of pressure relief Four sections of FloGel in middle of cushion Aids redistribution of pressure. Top of cushion may be rotated PU film coatingVery hygienic. Easy to clean LightweightEasy to manage and transport
