Key Question: What gives me the confidence that Jesus, my Lord, has ransomed me?

1. How did my Lord ransom me? a. Philippians 2:6-8* He humbled himself even to death b. Mark 10:45* His death ransomed me. My Lord ransomed me by humbling himself even to death on the cross

Humiliation: The first part of Jesus' ministry when he did not fully use his heavenly power and glory, but lowered himself to suffer and die for me conceived by the Holy Spirit born of the Virgin Mary suffered under Pontius Pilate was crucified died and was buried

2. What confidence does Jesus descending into hell give me? a. Colossians 2:15 I am confident that Jesus has conquered the devil for me. (Jesus' victory parade) Jesus descending into hell proves that he has freed me from the devil's power.

3. What confidence does Jesus rising from the dead give me? a. Romans 1:4 Jesus is my God b. 1 Corinthians 15:17* My sins are completely forgiven c. John 14:19* I will live forever through faith in Jesus Jesus rising from the dead proves that he has freed me from the power of sin and death

4. What confidence does Jesus ascending into heaven give me? a. Ephesians 4:7-10 He is my conquering hero b. John 14:2, 3* He is preparing a place in heaven for me Jesus ascending into heaven proves that he has ransomed me for a heavenly home.

Exaltation: The second part of Jesus' ministry when he again fully used his heavenly power and glory, to assure me that he had won the victory to ransom me. descended into hell rose from the dead on the 3 rd day ascended into heaven seated at the Father's right hand will come again to judge

Key Question: What gives me the confidence that Jesus, my Lord, has ransomed me? Jesus, my Lord, humbled himself to death to ransom me and then took up his power again to prove that he has set me free
