Colombia – Support for Demining  AICMA provided the military with demining units:  Logistical support for 10 units (approx. 400 mine clearers)  Technical and camp teams for 3 new demining units  Area cleared using technical means : 281,000 m 2  Area released through non- technical surveys : 425,000 m 2  No. of plots of land made available: 84  Explosive devices destroyed: 170 AIC M A

Colombia: Quality Management  Pursuant to the Technical Assistance and Cooperation Agreement between Colombia and the GS/OAS, AICMA performs:  Monitoring of demining activities to ensure quality procedures;  Inspection of cleared areas for quality control of land to be handed over to communities;  Evaluation of the documents, operating procedures, and technical capacity of civilian entities seeking accreditation to carry out humanitarian demining activities.  Between August 2014 and January 2016, AICMA:  Monitored 829 non-technical studies;  Conducted 1,349 on-site visits to verify that clearing had been done in compliance with approved procedures and to national standards;  Inspected all cleared areas for quality control; and  Evaluated new demining entities for accreditation.
