EUG 2016 Transportation Guide – Rijeka July 2016

Organization of transfers EUG 2016 Rijeka (1) The organization of transport of all EUG 2016 participants in Rijeka is based on the following assumptions: Temporary lines will be established, which will be based on the precisely specified needs related to the arrival and the announced departure of participants All student athletes (who will be competing in Rijeka) will be directed to check-in upon arrival (to the accreditation center at Rijeka Campus), depending on the sport they will compete in and their arrival time. After acquiring the accreditation, EUG 2016 participants/students will be directed to their place of accommodation, Rijeka Campus (rooms) or the student village Ivan Goran Kovačić (rooms) At the end of the EUG 2016 all participants will be transported from accommodation locations to their departure locations (train, bus, plane – scheduling will have to be done in advance)

Transfer transportation will be arranged for all participants from Zagreb (Pleso) and Rijeka Airports to hotels and Trsat Campus / the student village I. G. Kovačić Every day during the Games, Trsat Campus and Zagreb will be connected by bus/van, if necessary (participants/HoD/officials will have to submit a signed request form for transportation at least 48h before departure to Zagreb/Rijeka. If they cancel, a penalty will be charged) - bus will depart from Rijeka at 09:00h and from Zagreb at 20:00h Official carrier: Autotrans TYPE 3 buses – touristic buses, mid-class, minimum number of seats 50 (total minimum of 50 passenger seats with standard comfort) with suitable baggage compartments for 50 passengers. These buses will be the assigned buses for Zagreb Airport arrivals and departures) TYPE 3 buses Organization of transfers EUG 2016 Rijeka (2)

All students and volunteers will have accommodation at the following locations: Trsat Campus and student village Ivan Goran Kovačić (student dormitory) Special attention should be given to the main transport hub on student dormitory Campus Rijeka Transportation includes 2 different types of transport: local and transfer transportation Local transportation: Transport of all EUG 2016 from/to student dormitories / hotels / sports halls / sport venues Shuttle lines in Rijeka will be established, with defined bus stations and bus lines 6 locations of sports facilities for competitions and training  14 bus station (entrance (boarding) and exit (disembarking) station) Official carrier: RIJEKA plus/Autotrolej Secured (free) public transportation (carriers RIJEKA plus/Autotrolej) for all accredited participants from July 10th to 26th, 2016 Organization of transportation Rijeka (1)

Time of service (in Rijeka): between 12th and 26th of July 2016 (15 days), from 7:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. Transfer transportation will be arranged for all participants from Zagreb (Pleso) and Rijeka Airports to hotels and the University of Rijeka Campus Number of shuttle lines: 5 (Blue, Yellow, Red, Green and line that connect students dormitories) in different periods and other transport vehicles (passenger vans, cars etc.) + 1 adapted vans for persons with disabilities (paratransit) The buses will be low-floor (for transportation of persons with disabilities) and air- conditioned Shuttle frequency for each bus station will be 30 min The first morning shuttle bus departures to a sport facility two 2 hours before an event and 1 hour after an event. Buses are air-conditioned, low-floor and are divided into three different types depending on the maximum number of seats on the bus: TYPE 1 buses – mid-class, air-conditioned, total minimum 70 passenger positions with standard comfort TYPE 2 buses – low-floor, mid-class, total minimum of 70 passenger positions with standard comfort TYPE 3 minibus - total minimum of 30 passenger positions with standard comfort Combi (minivan) vehicles – for para athletes using wheelchairs – a minimum of 4 seats with a ramp that will enable athletes in wheelchairs to enter the vehicle with ease TYPE 1 busesTYPE 2 busesTYPE 3 minibus Organization of transportation Rijeka (8)

Opening Ceremony (July 13th, 2016) Morning hours: Shuttle lines transport as schedule Around 15:00h – departure of all participants from Rijeka to Zagreb Around 23:00h – departure of all participants from Zagreb to Rijeka 14 buses (49 seats) Besides busses for teams, buses will be arranged for: referees, EUSA / VIP members and rectors from Opatija Planned bus parking next to the location of the opening ceremony (the athletics stadium which is part of the Sports Park Mladost, Zagreb) Organization of transfers EUG 2016 Rijeka (1)
