EUG 2016 Transportation Guide – Zagreb July 2016

Organization of transfers EUG 2016 Zagreb The organization of transport of all EUG 2016 participants in Zagreb is based on the following assumptions: Temporary lines will be established, which will be based on the precisely specified needs related to the arrival and the announced departure of participants All student athletes (who will be competing in Zagreb) will be directed to check-in upon arrival (to the accreditation center at the Faculty of Kinesiology), depending on the sport they will compete in and their arrival time. After acquiring the accreditation, EUG 2016 participants/students will be directed to their place of accommodation, the student dormitory Stjepan Radić (rooms) At the end of the EUG 2016 all participants will be transported from accommodation locations to their departure locations (train, bus, plane – scheduling will have to be done in advance)

All students and volunteers will be accommodated at the same location (the student dormitory) Special attention should be given to the main transport hub, located near the student dormitory Stjepan Radić 80 % of sport facilities are located within a 10-km radius from the student dormitory Stjepan Radić There are 29 bus stops, distributed on 36 sport facilities (competitions + training) 32 shuttle bus lines (in different periods) and other ways of transport (passenger vans, cars etc.) + 1 adapted van for people with disabilities (paratransit) The buses will be low-floor (for transportation of people with disabilities) and air- conditioned Official bus carrier: Zagrebački Holding Co., Department of Zagrebački električni tramvaj - ZET Free public transportation (ZET carrier only!) for all accredited participants from 6th to 26th July 2016 Organization of transportation Zagreb (1)

Transportation will mostly be needed from 7 a.m. to p.m. (on special occasions, it can start at 6.30 a.m. and end at 23:00 p.m.). The expected number of buses per route/line is one or two. The first morning shuttle bus departures to a sport facility two 2 hours before an event and 1 hour after an event. Entry and exit bus stations for are usually at the same location, next to the sports facilities. As agreed, sport teams can book transport for training sessions at least 24h prior to their desired timeslot (or until noon of the day before – 12:00). Transportation frequency for training sessions depends on the number of requests from teams/participants. All types of vehicles will be marked with informative markings/plates (format A3) featuring a pictogram (sport – label of mascot EUG 2016 „Hrki“), name of the assigned destination (sports hall or playfield) and the number of bus line (L1, L2, L3, … and L33) Buses will be similar in appearance and color uniform so EUG participants can notice and recognize them more easily.
