Pathshala Classes: Vision and Mission VISION: Passing on Jain traditions and values for centuries to come MISSION: Promote Jain Way of Life, happiness, and spiritual growth, in a learning-with-fun environment, for kids to seniors by teaching Jain Principles and Rituals, Jain Scriptures, and through practice of introspection, and meditation !!!

Guidelines for Teachers: Come 15 minutes before the class time, around 10:15 am to set up the classroom End Pathshala by 11:25 am so we all can be in the prayer room by 11:30 am Incorporate essence of 4 Anuyog: Dravyanuyog, Prathmanuyog, Karnanuyog, and Charnanuyog in your teaching Make teaching fun, interactive Start first 5 minutes: To calm down with Namokar Mantra, Meditation, etc. with sharing from students from previous week.

Guidelines for Parents: Please be on time preferably by 10:25 am to do Bhagwan’s Darshan and then drop kids to the Pathshala classroom. If your kid is participating in the Jain Band, please have lunch first and bring the kids to Guru Mandir for Jain Band practice. Keep no other activities during Pathshala time so kids can attend Pathshala session every week. Dress code: Wear appropriate attire for the Temple. No short pants for older children. Please do not bring any leather material inside the Temple : belts, purse, wallets. Maintain silence in the prayer hall. If you need to talk, please do so in the hallway or outside the Temple entrance. Please teach your kids to put shoes/Chappals properly in an orderly fashion. Volunteer at the Temple in Puja, and other seva opportunities. Please bring your own plates for lunch to minimize paper plates usage and garbage collection. Please teach kids to take only what they can finish – no food left on the plate. Please ensure after lunch, kids are taught to pick up their plates. Establish good communication skills with your kids: discuss with your kids on what they learnt in the class, share a moral story every night – see next slide for the web link for stories. BE THE ROLE MODEL for your kids !!!
