Description Title : Pilot activities of internationalisation Work package type : Development Description : This WP aims to implement the pilot activities of internationalisation. The package seeks to implement everything that has been developed so far, through staff that are trained at EU partner insitutions, as well as through the Office of International Cooperation and student offices. This WP will contribute to a greater internationalisation of BH universities through practical implementation of the pilot activities selected from the internationalisation strategy. This WP aims to connect all of the already implemented activities under the supervision of the EU partner institutions. Strengthening of Internationalisation in B&H Higher Education WP4

Description The emphasis will be placed on the sustainability of these pilot activities considering that after the completion of the project no additional financial resources will be required. Strengthening of Internationalisation in B&H Higher Education WP4

Outcome 4.1. Title : Selection of pilot activities and selection of mentor for each university Type : report, service/ product Description : Through this outcome each BH University should undertake a selection of pilot activities (minimum of 4 per University) which the institution considers to be the priority, and which are related to the realisation of developed strategy of internationalisation and indicators. The selected pilot activities should clearly connect the theory, human resources and practical training. All of the activities should be implemetned/ applied at each BH University through practical work. Strengthening of Internationalisation in B&H Higher Education 4.1.

Outcome 4.1. After the selection of pilot activities, each BH University will receive one mentor (the EU partners) who will monitor and control the progress of the pilot activities, in order to ensure their effective implementation. Pilot activities will be proposed by the Office of International Cooperation and student offices and on the basis of a final decision by the management of the University. This activity does not require any costs. Due date : Strengthening of Internationalisation in B&H Higher Education 4.1.

Outcome 4.2. Title : Creation of template for implementation of selected pilot activities Type : service/ product Description : As support to the selected pilot activities, a template will be designed which will be used for insertion of the pilot activities being implemented. This template anticipates offering a unique form for all pilot activities. The template will define the responsible person/office for a each pilot activity including the basic data, the nature of activities and the time of its execution, activity participants, expected outcomes, cooperation with institutions for the implementation of activities, human resources, equipment used, estimated costs of activities, funding, identifying potential risks, quality control and so forth. Outcome 4.2. Inputs for this outcome are selected pilot activities to be inserted in the template. This activity will last for six working days. BH Universities will not participate in this activity. Due date : Strengthening of Internationalisation in B&H Higher Education 4.2.

Outcome 4.3. Title : Implementation of pilot activities at partner universities Type : report, service/ product Description : In accordance with outcomes 4.1. and 4.2. this outcome relates to the implementation of selected pilot activities under the supervision of the EU partners. International office for cooperation and the Student Office will insert the selected pilot activities in the template under the supervision of the EU partners who will to put them into practice. This practical activity should include the integration of internationalisation at the University of academic programs, faculties and at University level. If certain problems are encountered during implementation, they will be resolved under the supervision of the EU partners. Strengthening of Internationalisation in B&H Higher Education 4.3.

Outcome 4.3. Networking is very important for this activity. Inputs for this activity are the developed templates and inserted data pertaining to pilot activities. This activity will last for 20 working days. All BH HEIs will participate in this activity. Due date : Strengthening of Internationalisation in B&H Higher Education 4.3.

Outcome 4.4. Title : Visits of mentors Type : event, report Description : With an aim to assure efficient implementaiton of this outcome, EU partners will visit BH Universities to provide practical support. It will be expected of the EU partners to check the usage and data entry in the designed templates. The EU partner suggestions should point to European practices in the implementation of similar or identical activities. After the visit, Mentors should prepare a report about the implemented pilot activities, with recommendations for improvement. Strengthening of Internationalisation in B&H Higher Education 4.4.

Outcome of the EU partners will visit three universities (each) and one of the EU partners will visit two BH universities. The Mentor visit will last for five days for each of the EU partners. Preparation of annual reports by the EU Mentors will last a total of 16 working days. The translation of the Mentors’ reports will be provided in local languages for each BH University. Outcome 4.5. Title : Seminar of benchmarking implemented pilot activities Type : event, report, service/ product Description : After a series of implemented project activities and Mentor visits, BH Universities will present the current state at their home institutions. At this training, the EU partners should point out individually to each BH University the segments that need to be improved. All BH universities will be specifically analysed and benchmarking of the implemented pilot activities will be done. This will improve the quality of internationalisation and not only on the basis of the visits and Mentors’ reports, but on the level of cooperation between BH Universities. Strengthening of Internationalisation in B&H Higher Education 4.5.

Outcome 4.5. National/ entity authorities should indicate the possible consequences from the national/ entity level’s perspective and suggest means of improving the quality of internationalisation at BH universities. The training will last for four days, and the venue will be Bihac. All project partners are foreseen to participate in the organised event.
