Outline ● Introduction ● History ● Database Query ● Catalogue Tools ● CDS & VizieR Services ● Further Development ● Conclusions 39 th Int. Conf. on Var. Star Research, Valašské Meziříčí, Nov /10 On-line database of photometric observations of mCP stars

Introduction ● Astronomical Data on the Web: – Surveys and Catalogues (NVSS, 2MASS, SDSS,...) – Facility/Mission Archives (ESO, CASU ADC, HST,...) – Integration Facilities (NED, SIMBAD, VizieR,...) – Thematic Archives (LAMBDA, MAST, LEDAS,...) ● mCPod – mCP observation database: – a thematic archive of all available photometric and spectrophotometric data of mCP stars – developed and maintained by DTPA, FSc, MU in Brno & AI, SAS in Tatranská Lomnica – nowadays database contains 114,393 photometric measurements of 107 stars 39 th Int. Conf. on Var. Star Research, Valašské Meziříčí, Nov /10 On-line database of photometric observations of mCP stars

History ● R&D phase: – Nov , 2004: catalogue structure definition (Mikulášek, Janík, Zverko & Žižňovský) – Nov. 29 – Dec. 8, 2004: preliminary database implementation, first data entries (Janík & Vaňko) – till Jun. 2006: development of the database query interface (Janík & Netolický) ● Jun. 2006: introduced pilot (Mikulášek et al. 2007a) ● Jun. 2007: introduced mCPod (CrAO Conf. 2007) ● Nov. 2007: negotiations with CDS in progress (Szász) ● Dec. 2007: integration into CDS & VizieR catalogue services; mCPod fully VO compliant (Szász) 39 th Int. Conf. on Var. Star Research, Valašské Meziříčí, Nov /10 On-line database of photometric observations of mCP stars

Database Query ● Basic Query: 39 th Int. Conf. on Var. Star Research, Valašské Meziříčí, Nov /10 On-line database of photometric observations of mCP stars ● General SQL Query: (under development) SELECT * FROM 'catalogue' WHERE band = 'Johnson:V'

Catalogue Tools ● Phased Lightcurve Calculator: 39 th Int. Conf. on Var. Star Research, Valašské Meziříčí, Nov /10 On-line database of photometric observations of mCP stars ● Reference Browser:

CDS & VizieR Services ● CDS Service for Astronomical Catalogues: – II. Photometric Data (253 catalogues) ● VizieR Service: 39 th Int. Conf. on Var. Star Research, Valašské Meziříčí, Nov /10 On-line database of photometric observations of mCP stars

Further Development ● integrated object cross-ID support ● brand new Database Query interface – general SQL query support ● support for base level normalization of the relative photometry datasets ● improvements of the Phased Light-curve Calculator – connection to the database of known light elements – advanced light-curve visualization module ● complex redefinition of the database structure to comply VizieR and VO standards ● towards mCPod 2G (scheduled release in Jan. 1, 2008) 39 th Int. Conf. on Var. Star Research, Valašské Meziříčí, Nov /10 On-line database of photometric observations of mCP stars

Conclusions ● Masaryk University and Slovak Academy of Sciences founded a unique thematic archive offering a new approach in mCP star research (Mikulášek 2007b) ● Further development is mainly focused on accessibility via next- generation database tools (CDS, VizieR, VO) 39 th Int. Conf. on Var. Star Research, Valašské Meziříčí, Nov /10 On-line database of photometric observations of mCP stars mCPod 2G scheduled for Jan. 1, 2008 The next generation thematic archive of the mCP Stars...
