10 Purpose of Teen Leadership Conference The purpose of the Teen Leadership Conference is to create a forum for teens to provide constructive educational, cultural, civic, recreational, and social programs by and for teens within each Region; and to interpret the programs and promote the projects of the national organization as they pertain to the teens.

White or flesh colored stockings are required. Shoes must be all white. The toes can be enclosed or peep-toe, sling-back pumps are acceptable, but cannot be both peep-toe and sling back. Wooden heels are not acceptable. Sandals (toes and heels exposed) or mules are not acceptable. When a ceremony is held, members who are not properly attired may not enter the room until the ceremony is concluded. Ceremonial Attire

Rules & Procedures Rules & Procedures 1. Rules apply to all teens. 2. No special treatment. 3. Chaperones Must discuss Rules & Procedures with parents prior to teen conference. 4. Rules Must be consistently applied and strictly enforced.

38 Teens must participate in ALL activities Arrive at the conference start and remain until the end. No partial attendance allowed. May not leave their rooms after curfew. No drugs, alcohol, sexual activity, weapons, violence will be tolerated No explicit dancing (including grinding, twerking, lap dancing, spread eagle, wall dancing, etc.) or exhibiting behaviors, otherwise sexual in nature Teens must respect and follow directions of ALL chaperones (not just own chapter’s), Regional Team, and Host Chapter Dress code for Plenary Sessions, Meetings, Workshops, Dances, Banquet, and other conference events will be strictly enforced Teens will be fined for arriving late at plenary sessions Parents and Teens confirm agreement of Code of Conduct/ Ethics by signature Chapters may set their own guidelines and penalties for teen behavior Teen Code of Ethics - Highlights

39 Responsible for teens from Conference start to finish Must maintain Chaperone: Teen ratio at all times Must accompany Teens to all meetings, events, and meals Chaperones MUST inform Regional Team of infractions involving drugs, alcohol, sexual activity, weapons, violence or other serious infractions No drugs, alcohol, or smoking while serving as Chaperone Ensure that teens are in dorm rooms during free time ONLY Ensure that Male/Female visitation is only permitted with chaperone supervision and only with door OPEN Ensure that all teens are in assigned dorm rooms by curfew Maintain teen compliance with Teen Code of Ethics Chaperone Code of Ethics Highlights

40 Zero Tolerance Policy Teens must respect and follow ALL Rules and Guidelines Code of Conduct and Code of Ethics will be strictly enforced Chapters may set their own guidelines and penalties for teen behavior Individual Violations Any Teen found to be in violation of general rules First offense will receive warning Second offense will be referred to the judicial board Third offense will be grounds for dismissal from the conference EXCEPTIONS Teens found exhibiting egregious behaviors or acts of any kind may be dismissed immediately. Parents will be responsible for any transportation arrangements and costs. Teen may be banned from future Teen Conferences Violations & Consequences Procedures

41 Zero Tolerance Policy Group and Individual Conduct at Teen Dances There will be no explicit dancing (including grinding, twerking, lap dancing, spread eagle, wall, chair, floor dancing, etc.) or exhibiting behaviors, otherwise sexual in nature No Mush or Rage pits or Circles Any Teen found to be in violation First offense will receive warning Second offense will be dismissed from the dance Repeat violations will be grounds for dismissal from the conference EXCEPTIONS Teens found exhibiting egregious behaviors or acts of any kind may be dismissed immediately. If the group engages in behaviors above, the Dance may be ended without prior notice. Teen may be banned from future Teen Conferences Violations & Consequences Dances
