The ears intricate and delicate structure makes it vulnerable to damage. Problems with the mechanical system that conducts sound waves to the cochlea cause conduction hearing loss. If the eardrum is punctured the ears ability to conduct vibrations diminishes.

Damage to the cochlea’s hair cell receptors or their associated nerves can cause the more common (nerve deafness).

Cochlear Implants A Cochlear Implant is a sort of bionic ear. Cochlear Implants transmit electrical impulses to the brain. It helps deaf children hear some sounds and to learn to use spoken language.

Deaf people have a complete language and its called sign language. Deaf people have a complete language and its called sign language. Being deaf enhances other senses which gives them an advantage. Being deaf enhances other senses which gives them an advantage.

The latest cochlear implants can restore hearing for most adults but only when the adult brain learned to process sound during childhood.
