9/28/2016 Health benefits of water Water is crucial to our health. It makes up, on average, 60 percent of our body weight. Every system in our body depends on water. Lack of water can lead to: Exhaustion = sleeping more = less exercise = weight gain = Constipation = Headaches = Diabetes - blood sugar level management = Hypertension (high blood pressure) = Joint and muscle pain = Immune diseases (Kidney Failure, Blood and Colon Cancer) = Depression can be helped by ensuring that you drink enough water for your health = 5 minute task: Think about how your life would be affected if you lacked access to clean water. Make a connection chain, starting with each point listed above.
9/28/2016 Clearly, there are many benefits to drinking clean water. As Canadians, we can be thankful that we have access to clean drinking water at all times. We even get to choose what kind of water we drink! Why kind do you like?

9/28/2016 Unfortunately, is not a reality for every one. The right to clean drinking water is recognized by the United Nations as a basic human right. FACT: 884 million people around the world to not have access to clean water.

No relocation shall take place without the free, prior and informed consent of the indigenous peoples concerned and after agreement on just and fair compensation and, where possible, with the option of return. What is informed consent?

9/28/2016 Yet, Indigenous peoples continue to have their lands exploited by foreign companies who come in and push them from their traditional ways of life and cut them off from their resources by putting up hydro-electric dams and mining for water, oil, and gold.
