Assessments Assessment Grades Categorical marking system All assessments are marked according to their respective categorical marking criteria, grades are then derived from whichever category the assessment work falls into Relationship between a categorical grade and its percentage (%) mark range equivalent School of Medical Sciences 2016/17

Final awards Examination Boards Final module marks and degree classifications are finalised and approved at official Examination Boards. First Examination board After the summer exam period Determines the final overall mark for Part 1 Diploma section and progression to research project (Part 2). Second (final) Examination board After final submission date of the research project (early October). Determines the final overall mark and final degree award classification. The overall mark degree will be calculated as (L7 -T + L7 -RP ) / 2 L7 -T is the mean mark across taught modules in PGT programme (Part 1 - diploma) L7 -RP is the mark for a PGT Research Project (MSE-4025) Review of Borderline Classifications - Regulations for Taught Programmes School of Medical Sciences 2016/17
