Listening and oral practice  2.1 Formal and informal greetings  Formal and Informal greetings a. listen to the conversations and decide true or false b. listen to the conversations and fill in the blanks c. Pair work: make dialogues according to the given situations 1) You are a receptionist 2) You are greeting your colleagues 3) You are at an interview 4) You are meeting a client at the airport 

 2.2Questions and replies during greetings  a. You are going to hear six questions. Please match them by writing down the numbers of the questions in the proper places.  b. listen to six questions and write down each of them

Part II Introducing oneself and others  1. 2.Listening and oral practice  2.1 Introducing oneself  a. Listen to the self-introduction during an interview and fill in the blanks  b. Pair work: look at the two business cards on page 5 and choose one of them and play your role.

 2.2 Introducing others  a. listen to the introductions about three famous persons, guess and write down their names  b. Listen to the introduction again and fill in their personal information.  c. suppose three of you meet at a business conference, please introduce yourself to each other.

Part III Meeting a client at the airport  1. language focus

Part IV Small talks  1. Listen to a conversation between an American client Mr. Harry Smith and a Chinese manager Wang Lin. Write down the questions in the proper places.  2. Pair work. Find some topics you can talk about during small talks when you meet people in business and make dialogues according to each topic

Part V Role-play  An international business conference is held in New York. Businessmen from different cultures are introducing themselves and talking.
