Transport for Urban Growth – Draft North West Preferred Network

Future Transport Network Improvements Proposed Upgrades about Redhills Strong East – West Connection (with Hobsonville Interchange) – Fred Taylor Drive/Don Buck Road intersection upgrade – Fred Taylor Drive Urbanisation (consistent with PC15) Northside Drive Extension New North-South Arterial (to the west of the RUB) New intersections and connections along Fred Taylor Drive and Don Buck Road (associated with Redhills development) Dunlop Road Frequent Bus link Park and Ride Bus Stations – Brigham Creek Road – Westgate – Royal Road

Summary The scale of the live zoning request is significant and would place the existing network (with current approved improvements) under great pressure. The live zoning request relies on investment in the transport network that; – Is in the planning phase – Is currently out for public consultation – Does not have an approved business case – Is therefore unfunded and not programmed in the Long Term Plan. The Redhills area transport network should be planned comprehensively within the context of the wider North West growth area prior to any live zoning
