LATE / INCOMPLETE WORK My expectation is that ALL assignments be completed to a level of proficiency (70% or higher) and turned in on time. Assignments turned in 1 (ONE) day late will be assessed a 30% penalty. Assignments that are more than one day late WILL NOT be accepted. Parents will be contacted if late or incomplete assignments become a habit. Printer and Internet issues are not an excuse for late work. ABSENTEE POLICY YES, WE DID SOMETHING IMPORTANT WHILE YOU WERE ABSENT. It is the student’s responsibility to check for any assignments missed. A student has one extra day to turn in any work assigned on a day a student was absent. If a test was administered on a day a student was absent, the test must be made up on the first day the student returns. If previously assigned work was due on the day of the absence, the work is due on the first day the student returns. If you know you will be absent ahead of time, please let the teacher know. TECHNOLOGY iPads will be used daily in Physics. Please have CHARGED iPads each day. The majority of class assignments, projects, and assessments will be completed digitally. Students are expected to abide by all school and district digital safety rules and guidelines. Failure to do so will result in disciplinary action. I, ________________________________________, have read and understand the rules and expectations for Physics. I acknowledge that it is my responsibility to contact my teacher if I have any questions or concerns. I know that this syllabus, assignments, calendars, and resources are available to me on the teacher website or Edmodo at any time. I know that assignments can be submitted digitally at any time and that printer/computer/flash drive issues are not an excuse for late work. Student signature ________________________________ PLAGIARISM Plagiarism is the taking ideas and writings of another and passing them off as one’s own. In this class, plagiarism includes turning in another’s work as one’s own 2. copying work from a friend before class (or while in another class) 3. including a source but failing to cite it 4. copying an author’s exact words and passing them off as one’s own Students caught plagiarizing will be given a ZERO for the assignment. CHEATING The teacher will notify the administration and contact parents if cheating / plagiarism is suspected. The student will be given a zero for that particular test or assignment. If the student is caught cheating off of another peer, both students will receive a zero Physics HOMEWORK There will be weekly homework assignments. Homework will be assigned on Mondays and due on Fridays. The first few weeks of school, homework will be paper copies. As soon as iPads are issued, all homework will be completed online through the Quest System.
