Why is honesty important?

Sacrifice- giving up something for the greater good What did Carney sacrifice during the battle at Fort Wagner? Audacity- means boldness or reckless daring He had the audacity to barge into the classroom in the middle of a test. o Teach your partner what this amazing word means.

Brazen- a brazen person acts shamelessly Bullies often act in a brazen manner. Teach your partner this amazing word means.

Glory-great praise and honor They were fighting for freedom and glory. Quarrel-a fight with words The two states had been having a quarrel for a long time. TEACH YOUR PARTNER THESE WORDS

Rebellion- a fight against your own government The federal government sought to put down the rebellion and restore the country as one union. Stallion-a male horse He had a tall stallion in the barn. TEACH YOUR PARTNER THESE WORDS

Canteen- a small container for carrying water or other drinks The soldier took a final swig from his canteen. Confederacy- a group of countries or states working together The southern states wanted to create a new nation, the confederacy, independent of the United States.

Union-a joining of two or more people or things into one They were hoping to bring the states back to a single union.

Irregular Plural Nouns Most plural nouns are formed by adding – s. Nouns ending in ch, sh, x, z, s and ss you add -es to form the plural Nouns ending in –y, change the y to I and add –es Nouns with irregular plurals change spelling

Rules: Add an apostrophe and –s to form a singular possessive noun Dog-dog’s Add an apostrophe to a plural noun ending in –s to form the possessives. If the plural does not end in –s, add an apostrophe and –s Dogs-dogs’ Children-children’s
