CDPH Internal Violence Prevention Task Force Specific events heightened attention to the significance of violence as a public health issue. The state and local public health community became actively involved in response and recovery work in San Bernardino A number of CDPH and local public health programs are regularly engaged in violence prevention work Including addressing intimate partner violence, child abuse and neglect, elder abuse, suicide, community safety and gun violence Interested expressed by CDPH staff and leadership in assembling to explore and clarify the role and contribution of governmental public health in violence prevention 13
