Presentation transcript:

 For our project we are proposing a business plan for building a waste management industry in the Metro Detroit area.  Our research will include economic feasibility, costs, location, and management.  There is already a waste recycling facility in Detroit called Capital Waste Inc,

 Q1. What is organic waste? A. It is composed of biological origin such as paper, cardboard, waste, food etc.  Organic waste can be very useful  We want to respond to a broader need to recycle our waste

 Detroit’s deficit is an staggering $300 million in the hole.  Bad economy!!!  Unemployment numbers are at an all time high  Many businesses are dying due to lack of profitability  Automotive companies like The “Big Three” struggling financially

 Better service/products  Better educational system  Not poverty stricken (better looking neighborhoods) 

 Fear of being attacked or mugged  Detroit experienced 418 cases of murder in 2006  Detroit named of the most dangerous city by Forbes magazine  24 year old girl shot and killed by 12 year old minor 8/10/2009

B&H’S ORGANIC WASTE INC, “LOOKING TO BRING DETROIT BACK FROM THE DUMPS” CAPITAL WASTE INC  Provide organic waste pickup  Provide services to smaller businesses, schools, city building  Do not believe in dumping in landfills  40 Trucks en route establishing efficiency and quality of waste services  We aim to pick up most the trash in the city  Services including collection, transfer station and recycling services in the Metro Detroit area  Provides 100% landfill avoidance  Provides service to thousand of customers including construction sites, malls, office buildings, hospitals, schools and universities

 SOCRRA is a municipal corporation, which consists of 12 municipalities including Ferndale, MI  SOCRRA residents recycled 31,000,000 pounds of material last year  Bring everything from household waste to other items *Berkley*Beverly Hills*Birmingham*Clawson*Ferndale*Hazel Park*Huntington Woods*Lathrup Village*Oak Park*Pleasant Ridge*Royal Oak*Troy (all Michigan communities)

 Selling trash at community drop off center  Rummage sale  Choosing reusable goods over disposables  Composting your food and yard waste

 Buy your own trash bin  Pick a recyclable pamphlet  Place Recycling bin out on same day as trash pickup

 Recycle 4 Charity  Recycling Appeal  Cartridges 4 Charity  The Furniture Reuse Network

loan expenses - 650, ,000 Four Sections  Machinery  Upgraded trucks  Facilities maintenance/construction  Employee income

Investing in resources that create sources of income  Reusable parts  Renting out containers to companies  No dumping in landfills-extra expense  Establish company contracts for, repairs leasing and rental programs

Employees can make 35,000-60,000 a year (No over time included)  Overtime will be budgeted according to the business success  Collaborations with colleges could preserve job placement in both of our buildings

 College student career placement  Young management with great creativity  Experience veterans of this industry (Resumes are needed)

 Regulate the quality of the service being done  Make sure all employees sort out the non-recyclable items from the recycling products  Completing the recycling process ensuring all waste is taken care (All of the non-recyclable items will be sent to GDRRA and incinerated for profit)

 Containers such as; open-tops, compactors, front-end trucks, and flat beds to transport the trash to our recycling center.  By offering rental containers like the Front End Load Containers

 We also rent out stationary, self-contained and vertical  Our company will make important advancement to reconstruct the way garbage trucks  We want to change the electrical arm dumping trash into a container to connectable processes that eliminate debris from reaching the ground

 Combine our expertise in these two areas to give us an inside track for doing this project.  Technical Communication course gave us great pointers for researching, designing and formatting papers

 Make Detroit a cleaner city, and then bring more jobs into the urban area  The machines and the hard working employees all turn the trash from the community into cash  We believe in our plans and our methods to change this problem in the metropolitan area.
