RICAPS Contracting Climate Action Planning and Implementation Technical Support RFP posted December 15, 2015 Proposals received Interviews on Thursday Contracting by February 4 th C/CAG Board approval February 11 th

Municipal GHG Inventories Funding for completion of 2014 and 2015 inventories Provided by technical contractor working with cities Need to have a discussion about VMT data source: – Standard is becoming Origin – Destination Work will begin on 2014 soon, 2015 end of year

Government Operations Inventories Funding to help cities with template worksheets Perhaps a working group process Technical assistance Start any time, but probably mid-2016 PG&E data late in 2016 (or from city records)

Open Data Portal Contracting still under way Target is still for end of March 2016 for initial data sets Intention is still to source most data outside of city staff Initial data sets (community GHG inventories) ready to be sorted for storage on Open Data portal Data includes sources (such as energy) + GHG emissions

Updating CAP for 2030 Cities decide when ready to update CAP 2020 just on the horizon Update will likely include – Updating report (template) – Updating city: Inventory business as usual GHG reduction goal Measures Funding for about 4 per year Point to consumption as a source but not inventory

RICAPS and SMCEW Resources Our Role: Develop funding and provide resources Deliver the resources in a way that’s useful to you Your Role: Give feedback on how we can do better Make efficient use of resources Send opportunities our way – Green Business Certification candidates – Facility retrofits – New planned city construction

Small Business Update Hard to Reach Criteria (businesses must meet 2/3): 1.Primary language spoken at business is non-English 2.Less than 10 employees 3.Rents or leases facility Data-driven Outreach Campaign: 1.Using a combination of PG&E and public data to identify quality leads

Building Pipeline for Municipal Facilities Automated Demand Response Workshop – March 2 nd 8:30am-12pm – Sobrato Center, Redwood Shores – Municipal facilities, large commercial Special Districts Going for deeper retrofits at city facilities

Implementation of ZE Strategic Plan 1.Template Language a.RFPs b.Ordinances c.General Plans 2.Workforce Development a.Trainings for Contractors and Engineers 3.Public Building Interventions 4.March & May: Zero Net Energy Workshops for Schools
