WHAT IS COMPUTER ?
. A computer is a complex system consisting of both hardware and software components.
SOFTWARE Software means the programs and data used with the physical computer. The word software is used for the information used with such devices: movies, music, novels, web pages, computer programs, and data.
Hardware means the physical parts of the computer. HARDWARE The word hardware is used for physical devices such as TV sets, DVD players and computers.
INPUT AND OUTPUT DEVICES Input and output devices allow the computer system to interact with the outside world by moving data into and out of the system.
An input device is used to bring data into the system. Some input devices are: Keyboard Mouse Microphone Bar code reader Graphics tablet
An output device is used to send data out of the system. Some output devices are: Monitor Printer Speaker A network interface acts as both input and output. Data flows from the network into the computer, and out of the computer
Input/output devices are usually called I/O devices. They are directly connected to an electronic module attached to the motherboard called a device controller.
Alternatively referred to as storage, storage media, or storage medium, a storage device is any hardware capable of holding information. There are two types of storage devices used in computers; a primary storage device, such as RAM, and a secondary storage device, like a hard drive. Secondary storage can be a removable, internal, or external storage. STORAGE DEVICE
