Health and Social Care ALLIANCE Scotland: People at the Centre Nancy Greig, Network Development Officer

About the ALLIANCE The Long Term Conditions Alliance Scotland (LTCAS) formed in 2006 to advocate for a shift to asset-based approaches, articulated through the self management agenda. LTCAS became a powerful alliance bringing together a wide membership and building an influential position as strategic partner, and critical friend, of the Scottish Government. Board feels strongly that we now need to look to the future and adapt to the changing policy context. Central to this has been re-naming the organisation.

Context: ALISS came as a recommendation from Scottish Governments ‘Better Heath, Better Care: Action Plan’ 2007 Promise of a Self Management framework for every CHP in Scotland to EMPOWER people with long term conditions and their carers with the information and support they need to manage their condition well
