B101 POWERPOINT

Popularity of PC’s  8 households out of 10 own a personal computer and 96 percent of the people aged 16 to 74 have used it every day or at least once a week at home (95 percent) or at the office (50 percent).  Your average computer, with monitor, will use up around.25 kW/hour.  one billion personal computers had been sold worldwide from the mid-1970s up to this time.

The LG Flatron W2252TE  The LG Flatron W2252TE is said to be the most energy efficient monitor on the market.  When being used the Flatron uses 22W on standby it uses only 0.3W.

Advantages of The Flatron  Uses much less power compared to other monitors such as the Asus VH226H which uses 57W.  Within the same price range as competing products, which makes it affordable.  Even though it has less power consumption the screen quality is still high-resolution.

Disadvantages of The Flatron  Aesthetics: The Flatron has a very common monitor look, which does not make it stand out from competing products.  Manufacturing: The Flatron is eco- friendly when it is being used, however the manufacturing of this product wad done in the same method used to manufacture the non eco-friendly products from LG.

Implementing The Technology In Other Products  Advertising- Using the low power consumption on stadium screens.  The Apple iPhone has a high-resolution screen which has an impact on the battery life by implementing the Flatron technology in to the iPhone the battery life can last longer.

LG As A Green Company  LG has only recently shown more interest in becoming an environmentally friendly company.  LG have announced that they will be switching magnesium which is one of the main materials used for its products to eco-friendly magnesium this will cut down on carbon dioxide emissions by 4kg on every handset they produce.
