In the early 1900s Europe was enjoying a period of peace & progress. However several forces were at work that would lead Europe into the “Great War”. One of these forces was nationalism, which is pride & love for one’s country. Nationalism, militarism, alliances, imperialism & eventually assassination would become known as the causes of World War I that spell out the word MANIA.
