Goals Trace the development of monumental art following the dark ages, which lasted in Greece from about 1200 BCE to about 800 BCE. List the characteristic functions, elements and principles of Geometric, Orientalizing and Archaic Greek art. – Geometric, 8 th century BCE (800 to 701 BCE) – Orientalizing, c. 7 th century BCE (700 to 601 BCE) – Archaic, 6 th century BCE (600 to 501 BCE)
