The Ten Habits of a Caring Organization Mind Your Manners –Be prepared for meetings; distribute an agenda in advance. –Use appropriately; respect the time of your colleagues. –Summarize meetings and action items for all. –Copy the person you mention in the ; inform sender if you forward their to others. Be Present –Be on-time for meetings; be an active listener. –Respond to customers, partners, and colleagues in a timely manner. –Share ideas; give consideration to the ideas of others. Be positive –Recognize the work of others; encourage collaboration among staff. –Meet routinely with staff to encourage leadership development. –Encourage trust; build confidence; do not blame others. –Bring closure to topics by acknowledging the work of all.

The Ten Habits of a Caring Organization Teamwork Works –Communicate often; encourage all to participate. –Respect the contributions of others; solicit input from all. –Be honest with others; learn from others. –Focus on Service Excellence through collaboration and cooperation. –Don’t waste negative energy; we’re in this together! DO Sweat the Small Stuff –Tell the truth; no need to exaggerate. –Take the time to say “thanks”. –Return the phone call; reply to the ; welcome others to the team. –Remember the contributions of those who have gone before you! –Schedule meetings with staff; keep appointments.
