CONFORM Open Day on 24 th June Church House, London. - I- I have participated alongside Roger, Hywel and Sam at the CONFORM open day. - There is a real need for the accelerator physicists to show their support to the building of ADSR and accelerators for medical science. IOP PAB Annual Meeting on 9 th July Manchester Solenoid Particle Tracking program with the 4th order Runge-Kutta method. Adina’s Update 28 June 2010

IOP Particle Accelerators and Beams Annual Meeting (Friday 9 th July, Manchester) organizing the meeting with Hywel ( rooms booked, Alan Turin Building ) food and drinks have been sorted with Anne internet and evo on the day will be set up by Sabah sending invitations to people who aren’t IOP members. members of Manchester Group registered so far: Hywel, Adina, Sam, Vasim, Nawin, Ian, Hugo, Jimmy, Luke, James, Whoever can’t see his/her name on the list, please do register! Agenda and more details can be found at the web address: Adina’s Update 28 June 2010

Write the 4-step (forth order) Runge-Kutta numerical integrator for ordinary differential equations. (used c++ to do that) Determine the equation of motion of a charged particle in a magnetic and electrical field of a solenoid. Write a function to return a numerical solution by reading out the (Bx,By,Bz)-field vector from a file at any (x, y, z)-point. Spoken to Hywel, call for a in-depth seminar/tutorial on Numerical Methods! 28 June 2010
