Purpose of Strategy Posters Reference for all students Visual reminders of ways to approach problems Provide starting places Can guide students to use the strategy Show examples of strategy use

Directions for creating strategy posters for your class Outcome: 2 posters –Addition and subtraction Select 2 strategies for each operation –Most helpful and powerful for your class Decide on the names you will use for each –Consider names that can be used across classes

Directions for creating strategy posters for your class Design a poster(s) that will serve as a clear reference for students to select and use the strategies –Consider starting places, examples, amount of print, etc. You may do a draft tonight or put your poster on tagboard

Providing feedback through a “gallery walk” Display your poster Using post-it notes, provide feedback and suggestions on others’ posters Return to your poster, and note any revisions you would make on your poster You may take your posters once we have photographed them
