The rescue services use grid square data in risk profile mapping. EMERGENCY SERVICES The country has been divided into areas of 1x 1km, each of which forms a risk squade The risk category of each risk squade is determined according to the numbers of residents and the amount of floor area.

AMBULANCE SERVICES Basic-level ambulance services Care-level ambulance services First-response activities

BASIC-LEVEL AMBULANCE SERVICES In basic-level ambulance services a patient is monitored and treated so that his/her state does not deteriorate during transportation. At the basic-level it is possible to start simple life-saving measures.

FIRST-RESPONSE ACTIVITIES First-response mainly means to help provided by medical professionals who are sent to an emergency patient. The unit called can also be the police or a fire engine.

CARE-LEVEL AMBULANCE SERVICES The staff of the care-level ambulance services are prepared to start intensive care and transport the patient so that his/her vital functions can be protected.

ACTIVITIES VITAL TO SOCIETY The government Resolution on the Strategy Securing the Functions Vital to Society names the following: management of State affairs, international activity, national military defence, internal security, functioning of the economy and infrastructure, the population´s income security and capability to function, as well as psychological crisis tolerance.
