What is FM – Facilities Management What is Facility Management? Facility management is a profession that encompasses multiple disciplines to ensure functionality of the built environment by integrating people, place, process and technology The World of FM

What do Facilities Managers do? Facility Managers: Act as the building(s) owner Ensures the building meets the operational needs of the occupants and processes Coordinates and guides architecture, design, engineering, finance, construction/project management, and integrated building and business systems Oversees and manages the building asset in accordance with the building investors and occupants Maintains a healthy, safe, secure and productive environment for the organization to conduct business Required Skills: communications, problem solving, coordinating complex teams, getting things done, creating solutions and being financially successful Must understand: architecture, design, engineering, construction project management, purchasing/contracts, real estate, finance, information technology, business administration, and HVAC
