History The first Starbucks opened in Seattle, Washington, on March 30, 1971 by three partners who met while students at the University of San Francisco: English teacher Jerry Baldwin, history teacher Zev Siegl, and writer Gordon Bowker. The three were inspired to sell high-quality coffee beans and equipment by coffee roasting entrepreneur Alfred Peet after he taught them his style of roasting beans. They contributed 1350$ each and borrowed another 5000 $ to start the shop in Seattle, State Washington.

How it all started and expanded  foundation,  rapidly expanded with the help of more experienced company Peet’s Coffee  managers bought Peet’s Coffee  1981 –owned 5 shops and a little coffee factory

 1987 sold again, this time for 4 million dollars  Since 1987 Starbucks has opened on average two new stores every day.  1992 Starbuks first appeared on the market it was represented by 165 coffee-shops  The first store outside the United States or Canada opened in Tokyo in 1996

LOGO The first shop was named after the character from the novel “Mobbi Dick” by Herman Melvill. At the beginnig the suggested name was “Pecod”, which was not finally accepted and later changed to the name of the first Akhava’s assistant –Starbuck.. The logo is presented by the stylish picture of serene.

One of the traditional demands –the entrance door always looks over the East or South, but never North.According to Scott Bedberry, one of the trendmakers, the reason for this is that the customers should enjoy the daylight but not get the direct sunlight rays.

In Saint Petersburg at present there are 4 coffee shops: Alexandrovskyi park4/3, Nevskiy prospect 55, Nevskiy prospect 114/116, Primorskiy pr/72 Enjoy your meal at Starbucks!

Thank you for your attention and welcome to Starbuks coffeeeshops!
