ABOUT English-American political activist Called an author, journalist, propagandist Political Theorist Revolutionary Born In Thetford, England. Emigrated to British American colonies in 1774 Participated in American Revolution

CONTRIBUTIONS Author of two highly influential pamphlets at the start of the American Revolution; “Common Sense” (1776), and “The American Crisis” pamphlet series ( ). One of the Founding Fathers of the United States Author of The Age of Reason (1793). Advocates deism and promotes freethinking, argues against institutionalized religion. Debates authenticity of the bible. Highly controversial Author of Agrarian Justice (1795), pamphlet discussing the origins of property and introduced the concept of guaranteed minimum income.

CONT. CONT. Paine initiated a mission to France to raise money, and acquired 2.5 million livres in silver from the French king. Paine made influential acquaintances in Paris, and helped organized the Bank of North American to raise money to supply the army.
