The Camping Committee Volunteer members Promote Camping program of the Council to our Scouting Units Develop the Camping Budget to operate the Council’s 3 Camps Design the Program to be delivered at our Council’s Camps Work with other Council Committees and the Order of the Arrow to implement the total Scouting program in the Council.

Tonight’s Agenda Camp Buck Run- Information from John Timko, Camp Director and Dana Waugaman Staff Advisor. Camp Conestoga- Camp Director Bob Martin and Program Director Alex Miller Questions and Answers Closing Thought – Jack Waite Reservation Director

Camperships Charles A. Yarris Campership Fund – Provide financial assistance to help youth members attend Camp – Designed to aid Scouts who are active in their Unit and participate in fundraising activities to help earn their way to Camp but cannot earn the entire Camp fee. – Applications are accepted for youth attending any Council Resident Camp. – Deadline for applications is April 13, – Applications are reviewed by the Council Campership committee.

Camp Service Project Program Packs and Troops May earn a $10.00 discount per each participant in a one day service project at Eberly Scout Reservation Complete an approved project (8 hours of service) in one weekend. Council will provide camp site at Eberly Scout Reservation for 2 nights and tools, materials and project direction. Complete a Service Project Registration form at least 30 days before your requested date.

Buck Run Registration Process Pack Cub Camping Coordinator completes a site reservation form for the Session that the Pack would like to attend. ( if that has not already been done) Pack Cub Camping Coordinator collects the deposits and completes paperwork due by March 6, Campership applications due by April 16, 2015 to the Council Service Center The Balances of Camp Fees are due by May 8, 2015.

Buck Run Camp Fees Weekend Camp-$ for Cub Scout, $55.00 for Parent Cub Scout Camp for Wolves and Bears-$ for Cub Scout,$ for Leaders over the free amount Webelos and Arrow of Light Camp-$ for Webelos and Arrow of Light Scouts, $ for Leaders above the free amount.

Buck Run Fees - Continued Ratio of Adults to Boys – 1-15 boys Camping= 2 free adult leaders – boys Camping= 3 free adult leaders – 25+= 4 free adult Leaders Extra Adults pay the adult fee specified for the Camp – $55.00 for Weekend Camp – $ for Cub Scout Camp and Webelos Camp

Tools for the Scout Camping Program at Camp Conestoga Camp Smoke Signals- mailed to all youth and Leaders Camp Leaders Guide Scheduling program through Rusty Tent.

Camp Conestoga Registration Procedures Troop leader completes a site reservation form for the Week that the Troop would like to attend. ( if that has not already been done) Troop Leader collects the deposits and completes the Troop rosters due by March 6, Campership applications due by April 16, 2015 to the Council Service Center The Balances of Camp Fees and Troop Final Fee Rosters are due by May 8, 2015.

Camp Conestoga - Camp Fees $ per Scout if paid in full by May 8, 2015 for Westmoreland Fayette Council Scouts $ per Scout if paid in full by May 8, 2015 for Out of Council Scouts. Leader fees: – 1-16 Scouts = 2 free adult leaders – Scouts= 3 free Adult leaders – Scouts= 4 free Adult leaders – Beyond 332 the ratio stays the same Additional Leaders are $ for the week.

Laurel Highlands Trail Expedition (pg. 5 in SS) $ INSTEAD of camp fee by March 8th 12 scout crew (age 13+) with two adults Hike entire LH trail from Sunday to Friday Earn backpacking & hiking requirements – possibly 50 miler! Camp provides trail ranger for day one, two, and restock

Summit Trek Replaces a week at camp, costs $460 per youth (age 13+) Depart for Summit (WV) Monday, return on Friday Minimum crew size of 6 youth, 2 adults BMX Racetracks, archery, paddleboard, climbing, etc.

New Badges to Conestoga Salesmanship Fingerprinting – Evening activity Mammal Study/Nature – Now combined summit Indian Lore Sustainability – “Family” heavy Coin Collecting

Eagle Camp (pg. 5 in SS) Week 2 (June 28 th – July 4th) Must register for previous week of camp Costs $ for second week Citizenships (C, N, W), Communications, Personal Management, Family Life

Skilled Trades Camp (pg. 5 in SS) Week 6 (July 27 th – August 2 nd ) Must register for previous week of camp Costs $ for second week Welding, Woodworking, Painting, Electricity, Automotive Maintenance, Home Repairs

Rusty Tent App Starting to look into it’s use for May Mobile program for streamlining camp administration May be able to include rosters, swim test scores, etc.
