Pay a visit to a friend’s house 1.Make an appointment before you go. 2.Bring a small gift. 3.Don’t be late.you should be punctual. 4.Greet the family members in the order of age. 5.Don’t seat yourself before the host tells you where to sit. 6.Don’t walk around the house to have a look. 7.It’s impolite to eat up all the food. 8.Don’t stay too long. 9.when leaving,invite the host family to pay a visit to your house.

Rules for being polite in Western culture

At a dinner party 1.Eat with knives and forks. 2.Don’t smoke during the dinner. 3.Be lively and smile. 4.Don’t shout or laugh loudly at the table.

Greeting your teacher 1.Smile and say “Good morning”or “Good afternoon.”.

Receiving a birthday present 1.Say “Thank you”. 2.Say something about the beautiful wrapping paper. 3.Open it immediately/at once. 4.Say that it is very beautiful and just what you wanted. 5.Say that they shouldn’t have given it to you. 6.Thank them a lot and kiss your friend.

Paying a visit to a friend’s house 1.Bring a gift,for example flowers or a bottle of wine. 2.Don’t immediately walk into the house but wait till your friend tells you to make yourself at home. 3.You may see book case but don’t open any cupboards or drawers. 4.If your friend is cooking for you,walk to the kitchen and offer your help.
