 A writing material of ancient times.  Also called paper plant, Papyrus is a grass-like aquatic plant that has woody, triangular stems and grows up to about 15 feet high in water up to 3 feet deep.

It is significant because it was the first paper-like material made

 A thin material made of calfskin, sheepskin or goatskin.  Used for documents, notes, books and manuscript in early times.  Most common in the 5 th century BC.
