What does the Market Need and Desire? In the age of Technology and the era of school choice the most immediate market need for most schools would be a online website. I believe that parents now when looking for a school will search on the internet long before making a personal visit. This is especially beneficial to those who are moving from out of state. With out setting foot in Colorado most parents can review and compare schools. Social Media such as Facebook and Twitter are another market need and could be useful tools in helping parents choose a school.

Review of Educational Marketing While all four of the schools had website, I found a wide variety of information on each school website. Each website had very different approaches in the information presentation. Also what what was marketed to the public was very different from website to website. Cherry Hill marketing focus was more on religion first. Platte River marketed towards it choice curriculum. The 2 public school geared their more towards school achievements. With social media being so prevalent in our society I was surprised that only 2 school had facebook sites neither of them were public school. Not one school had twitter. All the schools had areas that parents would be interested in. In the era of choice school a parent that is moving to this area does have several choices.

Summit View Elementary

Strength and Weakness Cont’ Strengths: Received high marks on Colorado School Grades and School Digger. Student Leadership opportunities Weaknesses: No Curriculum on website No test score data on website Nothing that stood out to make a parent choose Copper Mesa over any other close elementary school. Copper Mesa Elementary

Trends and Missions: In the age of technology both the trends and missions are driving the competitive environments between schools. All the schools that I focused on made strong points towards what they were doing in the area of technology. In a completed survey by parent and teachers done at Heritage the overwhelming response was the continuation and advancement in technology. How we use technology in classrooms such as Smart boards and I-pads. Using it for schoolwork and getting information out to parents on a regular basis.
