ABT components and related elements PSB Injection Region Proton Distributor BI.DIS System of pulsed magnets, which kick slices of the 160 MeV H- beam from LINAC4 to different vertical positions at the vertical septum BI.SMV. Vertical Septum BI.SMV Beam slices are further deflected by BI.SMV septa into the BI.BVT vertical dipole to achieve the required booster beam level separation of 360mm between each ring. H- Charge-Exchange System The beam is injected through a graphite stripping foil BI.STR to convert ~98% of the beam to H+, using 4 magnets BI.BSW creating the injection bump and a 4 horizontal kickers KSW, outside the injection region, producing the painting bump.
