SNAC Committees in the MPR

History/Goal of SNAC SNAC committees were established about 10 years ago. The goal was to maximize nutrition education efforts and improve coordination, cooperation, communication, and partnerships within the State agency and FNS Nutrition Assistance Programs.

SNAC in the MPR Comprised of representatives from FNS programs who conduct cross programming in nutrition education. This includes collaborating on one or more common goal and focusing on an integrated approach to connect efforts to resources. Quarterly conference calls with updates from each FNS program and State SNAC coordinator.

SNAC in the MPR Each quarter, States will share projects and interventions they are involved with at the State level. Designated note taker. Information shared with the SNAC members is compiled and placed in the Nutrition Education in the MPR, a document that summarizes all of the efforts in the MPR. Last edition was May 2012.

SNAP-Ed FY2015 Guidance FNS expects States to coordinate SNAP-Ed activities with other national, State, and local nutrition education and health promotion initiatives and interventions, including those implemented by other FNS nutrition assistance programs. Examples include WIC and CNP. States are required to describe their coordination efforts in the SNAP-Ed Plans.
