Objectives:  During this session attendees will be shown how to create a Personal.xlsb file in excel to store your macros in.  Attendees will be shown how to record a macro in excel.  Attendees will be shown how to recall stored macros in excel for use on reports.  Attendees will to demonstrate how to create a Personal.xlsb file and record a macro to that file  Attendees will demonstrate how recall stored macros  Attendees will demonstrate that the macros work to intended design.

Start by left mouse clicking the View tab Now left mouse click on the pull down under Macros Then left mouse click on Record Macro…

Type a name for the Macro. No spaces

Left mouse click on the pull down and select Personal Macro Workbook Type in a description of the Macro to be created Enter a letter if you choose to use a Shortcut Key Left mouse click “OK” to start recording the Macro

This icon indicates that recording a macro is active Left mouse click on the upper left hand corner of the worksheet to highlight the entire Worksheet. Right mouse click anywhere in the highlighted area

Left mouse click on Format Cells

Select the Alignment Tab Uncheck the Merge cells radio button Click the OK button

Highlight columns H thru AR. This is accomplished by holding down the left mouse button at the top of column H and dragging the cursor to the right until column AR is highlighted.

Place cursor on right side of column H and drag to a width of All highlighted columns will respond accordingly to the same width

Adjust column’s B thru G to desired widths

Left mouse click here to highlight row 10

Left mouse click on DATA tab

Left mouse click to add Sort filter to all columns in row 10

Left mouse click on bottom of row 10 and hold.

Left mouse click on bottom of row 10 and hold. While holding down Left mouse button drag row height to 80.25

Move cursor to highlighted row 10. Right mouse click to open format dialog box. Left mouse click on Format Cells

Left mouse click to check “Wrap text”

Choose “Bottom” from Vertical Text Alignment box

Notice some column widths need to be adjusted to better fit text in Cell.

Left mouse click upper right side of column B, while holding left mouse button down drag column width to 15.57

Left mouse click upper right side of column K, while holding left mouse button down drag column width to Left mouse click on record macro status icon to stop recording the macro Congratulations you have recorded your first Macro

Data sort Macro

Start by left mouse clicking the View tab Now left mouse click on the pull down under Macros Then left mouse click on Record Macro…

Uncheck the Green and NR status boxes Then left mouse click “OK”

Left mouse click on record macro status icon to stop recording the macro Congratulations you’ve created your second Macro

Left mouse click on PAGE LAYOUT tab Left mouse click on Print Titles Left mouse click here to select rows that you want repeated at the top of each page on your reports

Left mouse click and hold left mouse button down while dragging cursor from rows 1 to 10 Page Setup should indicate rows 1 thru 10 have been chosen Left mouse click here to close Page Setup

Left mouse click “OK” if you’re satisfied with the setup

Left mouse click on record macro status icon to stop recording the macro Congratulations you’ve created your third Macro

Finishing touches

Highlight all empty columns to the right over to column AR

Right mouse click anywhere in the highlighted area to open the Format Cells Dialog box Left mouse click “Delete” to remove empty columns to the right of the report

Left mouse click and hold button down to drag picture to new location

Drag picture to where it’s within the boarders of the report

Highlight Cells A5 thru A7

Drag highlighted Cells to center the Title on the report
