Insurance and Regulations All children and staff are covered by the P.C.C. scheme. Hampshire off site regulations are strictly adhered to. Little Canada is a Hampshire approved site. It is a secure site. All instructors have the relevant National Governing Body qualifications. All centre staff have undertaken extensive training. Coach transport is fully seat-belted. Mobile phones and first- aid equipment are carried by staff.
Outbound travel Monday 26 th September 09:45 Meet at the IOW car ferry terminal 11:00 Ferry leaves Portsmouth 11:35 Arrive Fishbourne - coach to Little Canada 12:00 Arrive at Little Canada Please give your child travel medication before departure.
Inbound travel Friday 30 th September 14:15 Leave Little Canada 15:00Ferry leaves Fishbourne 15:35Arrive Portsmouth Parents meet children at terminus. If your child needs medication for travel, please ensure it is supplied and handed to their group leader on arrival at the ferry terminal to depart.
Luggage Pack all items into one small/medium suitcase or holdall. Mark all luggage with name and school. Include a list of items! Pack several plastic bags for dirty or wet clothes and shoes. Send a packed lunch for the first day. Up to £10 (max) for gifts and extras at the Little Canada gift shop. Hand luggage for first day at Little Canada. (Packed lunch, plenty of water, sun cream, hat and a waterproof jacket)

Accommodation Log cabin-style sleeping up to 8 people All children have own bunk All chalets have en-suite shower/bath room No TVs or electrical appliances (hair dryers, straighteners, curling wands etc.) Children are responsible for their chalets. Curfew - children not to be out of their chalet in morning before breakfast and not after 21:30 (emergencies excepted) All children will be aware of the site code of conduct. Adult chalets in amongst pupil chalets.
Food at Little Canada On Monday children will need a packed lunch 3 hot meals a day (except Friday) LOADS of choice Special menus NO EXTRA SNACKS ALLOWED IN SUITCASES!
Contacting your child Children will not have access to a phone. No mobiles or any electronic gadgets allowed. In the case of an emergency please use the school mobile number. Feel free to: Send a letter, have a letter waiting for your child on arrival! Include pre-stamped postcards for your child to send you.
Medical Children hand over medication to their group leader on arrival at the ferry port. Please label it clearly stating when it should be administered and the dosage, the best thing for this is the pharmacy label if there is one. Provide travel tablets for return journey. Asthmatics should keep their inhalers at all times but should still show their group leader on arrival. Our own first aid kit will cover most minor problems. There is an on-site first aider and a doctor on 24hr call out. NO CHILD WILL BOARD THE FERRY WITHOUT HAVING HANDED IN OR SHOWN THEIR MEDICATION!
Journals The children will be issued with a journal on arrival at Little Canada. They will be expected to complete each day’s record and get it checked by their activity group leader. Standards expected are high - this should be a great memento of their trip.
