Research Project

 To explore the assessment requirements for the independent research project.  To assess good elements of a project and elements that need improvement.

 Based on last weeks lesson name as many elements as you can that should be included in your projects.  Make a mind map relevant to the project you have chosen BMI Graph why? Questionnaires WHO TO? Statistics Newspaper story? WHO ABOUT What of? OBESITY

 Read the exam assessment criteria.  Is there anything you don’t understand?  Discuss in small groups?  Identify x3 questions per group for your teacher regarding the exam board requirements.

 You have been given x2 projects by your Teacher. 1 – Homelessness 2 – The Environment Using the mark sheet and the Guidance provided in small groups assess the two projects.

 The Homeless project was a bare pass  Read the notes made by an assessor.  The environment project was a good pass.  Why do you think this was?

 In small groups write on post it notes what the success criteria of the project is.  Stick your postit notes to the relevant section on the board

 Use the information on the board along with other evidence from todays lesson to plan a successful project.  You must make this relevant to your own topic choice.

 All research needs a plan  What is your aim?  What resources will you need?  What will you do? (step by step)  How will you do it?  When will you do it by? **It is essential that you specify timeframes ie; 4 th July 2012 etc**

 Look at the template?  Do you understand this?  Use the tem[plate to create your own plan. Homework by Next Lesson: Planning section of project. To include; - Mind maps; Lesson 1 and 2 starters - Your rationale (reasons) for your choice of topic and country - Dated timescales as deadlines (You can use the template or chose an independent format).
