Final Presentation Stefanie Ady Title I Tutor Warstler Elementary Grade 1 Phonics

Lesson Preparation Kids: ● 7 students in 1 st grade: 4 boys, 3 girls ● Need strategic intervention in reading ● Seen daily for 35 minutes Content: ● Aligned with Reading Streets curriculum ● In ADDITION to the core program ● 1-2 Target Skills per week

ISTE Standards NET-S ● Social, Ethical and Human Issues ● Students develop positive attitudes toward technology uses that support lifelong learning. NET-S ● Technology Productivity Tools ● Students use technology tools to enhance learning, increase productivity, and promote creativity.

Objective of Lesson ● Students will be able to generate a word list containing specific phonemes, spell the words, and mark the phonemes accordingly.

Implementation ● Teacher Modeled thinking and writing. ● Most kids had never used the SMARTBOARD.

Implementation ● Each student had a turn to come up and write words with phonemes 'an' 'all' 'sh' or 'th'.

Follow Up/Assessment ● Selection Tests, Target Skills ● Dots ● Groups change every nine weeks ● Target skills revisited ● SMARTBOARD inservice is planned for teachers

Reflection ● Technology enhanced the lesson ● Kids are used to this repetitive structure, SMARTBOARD was new ● Teachers don't have time to use BOARD as more than a projector, so this was good exposure ● Very simple, but effective at the kids' level
