Presentation transcript:

Project Description: Influenced by the work of Raeford Dwyer, the artist responsible for The Peekskill Diversity Project, the Art Club would like to invite students AND teachers from Hendrick Hudson High School to celebrate our diversity with our own version of the project titled The Hen Hud Diversity Project. Last year, Raeford Dwyer took hundreds of portraits of Peekskill residents seeking to capture the diverse and dynamic energy that makes up the human kaleidoscope of this very diverse city. The following slides are a few images from The Peekskill Diversity Project…

Project Requirements: Must be a self-portrait Any media may be used: photo, drawing, painting, collage, mixed media, etc. Must include the written portion answering the question: What connects you to this school and community?

Written Portion: Brainstorm a list of reasons you feel connected to this school and community, such as: (Please exclude specific names/classes) –“ I always have a friend to talk to about problems I have with my family” –“ I have my favorite class first period which makes the rest of my day better” –“ My freshmen year I had no one to sit with at lunch so I found a teacher who let me work independently in their classroom” –“The clubs that I joined helped me make some really close friends”
