DRAMA LESSON

Drama Lesson Most of the people involved in the process of education may consider the technique of dramatization as a certain kind of light entertainment for pupils during “less important lessons”. This method is great for language skills development, which can be easily combined together into one lesson.

This kind of activity develops not only writing skill, but also creativity, cooperation (team work), and speaking skill. It is ideal to implement dramatization as a project work because of the large time span required for higher quality of the whole product. Time is also important because children are not as used to time limitation as adults and  therefore, it can cause the stress.

Activity Description – At the beginning it is important to use the Icebreakers, which are focused on bodily-kinaesthetic and musical intelligence. – Another necessary part is an opening discussion in which students are introduced into the task and motivated.

– Students work on whole conception together and the teacher is in the class to help them, but not to dictate all the concept. – To make this activity more creative, students are supposed to write their own story. Whole project should be based on cooperation of students, who firstly write the basic story and then transform it into a screenplay.

– Dramatization is, of course, another very important step. – Possible use of oral skills is through combination of bodily-kinaesthetic and intrapersonal intelligence.
