This session will look at evaluating progress in your class and ways to do it. We will mostly focus on learning to use Survey Monkey to do this.

Why evaluate? Pre-testing To establish their current curriculum level. So you don’t re- teach what they are good at. To gather information about how to teach your students and how they prefer to learn. Post-testing To see how students have performed. To evaluate your own teaching.

Ways to evaluate? Surveys – hard copy/electronically Tests – hard copy/electronically Questionnaires Performance Conversation/dialogue Assessment tasks Antidotal evidence – class observation Sport – beep test.

Benefits of electronic evaluation Can manipulate the data Stored easily Can come back to and compare against each other in charts, spreadsheets etc.
