Frequently Asked Questions “Are opposite gender visitors allowed in single-gender buildings?” – Yes as long as they check-in at the desk and are escorted by the resident they are visiting – Visitors after 10pm must be checked in and have a check-in slip from the front desk – All visitors checking into a residence hall must have a photo ID at time of check-in Residence Life
Students will receive a specific check in time from the 5 defined move in periods from 8:00am to 3:30pm – s went out at the end of July to those who have room assignments. The rest of the assignments will go out in the next week. Move in time assignments will be created to minimize the impact on infrastructure bottlenecks such as elevators. Please check in at your assigned time to ensure you have enough time to get settled before new student orientation and moving in is a great experience for everyone. Students will need – CatCard or the pre-assigned barcode image that will be ed to them at the end of July. – Printed out parking timestamp that was attached to Students will not be able to request a specific check in time. Student begins check-in process at the hall front desk/lobby which should take less than 5 minutes Drop off personal belongings along curb and move car to parking lot – 30-minute maximum to park and unload Want to move a lot of students, families, and their cars through in a short amount of time. Frequently Asked Questions “My student needs to move in before the 24 th because they are attending a special program, what is the process?” – All students moving in as part of a program that happens early, can move-in before the 24 th, just contact Residence Life Office – All requests to move-in before the 24 th are reviewed and either approved or denied – When in doubt, contact our office for confirmation “Who do we contact if we believe our son may be in danger?” – If immediate danger contact University Police at – Contact Residence Life at or your students hall front desk (contact info on Residence Life website) Residence Life

Frequently Asked Questions “What sort of storage is available for skis, bikes, etc.?” – Hapner and Yellowstone have dedicated ski/snowboard lockers – available on a first-come first-serve basis – Some buildings have limited floor storage that can be inquired about when students arrive – Many students arrange their room, closet space, and personal belongings to store items in their room throughout the year Residence Life

Students must sign-up through online system to stay for breaks Break housing charges are roughly: – Thanksgiving - $40.00 – Winter Break - $ – Spring Break - $80.00 Students don’t need to move all of their personal belongings out of their room when the halls close Food Service is closed during breaks so no meals will be offered Residence Life Break Housing Details
With every cancellation we receive, we are immediately filling it with students in temp housing Residence Life will contact the student via phone and when assigned to a permanent spot Critically evaluate personal items necessary during temp housing Don’t unpack everything when you arrive, most students will be assigned to a permanent space by Tuesday, August 30 8am.
