MONASH LIBRARY 16 Design Tips Have a clear story/purpose Think about tone (casual/formal) Utilise icons, charts and images – don’t overdo the text Don’t overdo colour (stick to around 3 colours, but use different shades) Consider use of fonts (be relatively consistent, use bold and italics) Think about printability or interactivity – i.e. make the length equal to one page. Will it work in black and white? Do you want it to hyperlink? Use white space effectively! Limit the information you put in and create clear sections Take a break and then look at it again to see any mistakes/improvements needed
