CMC Indigenous Services Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet Presentation Wednesday 27 April 2016

About us Founded in 2015, CMC Indigenous Services is a cleaning and property maintenance company. We are specialists in the cleaning and maintenance of offices, retail outlets, commercial buildings, multi-sites, educational and aged care facilities. We are a provider of integrated property maintenance service offerings including; contract cleaning, professional window cleaning, maintenance services, carpet steam cleaning, graffiti removal and property related emergency services such as flood and fire restoration. Whilst in its infancy, CMC Indigenous Services will draw upon the capability and experience of CMC Property Services (CMC Group) to deliver its integrated property maintenance service.

Our Story CMC Indigenous Services is owned by Michael O’Loughlin and Paul McCann. Michael is an accomplished AFL player with a career spanning 20 years and Paul McCann is successful businessman who owns national cleaning and property services company, CMC Property Services (CMC Group). After retiring from a career in the AFL, and in planning for his future, Michael decided to take on a joint venture with Paul where he could establish himself as a business owner in the commercial cleaning and property maintenance industry. The recommendations in the Forrest Review - Creating Parity resonated with both Michael and Paul and they saw a real opportunity to draw on their knowledge, experience and links to the community to not only build a business but help make change. It became evident to Michael and Paul that they could work together to create real opportunities for the Indigenous Australian community in the areas of ownership, business support, training and employment. Paul will act as a business mentor to Michael and Michael as a mentor to Paul on creating links and engaging with the Indigenous Australian Community. CMC Indigenous Services Pty Ltd is Supply Nation certified given its 51% Indigenous ownership.

Current contracts, employment stats Our key contract is the Defence NSW contract through Brookfield Global Integrated Solutions. We offer a cleaning and cleaning related service for this contract. Our current employment statistics on this contract specifically are: 24% Indigenous workforce 100% Indigenous Management Company wide 34.5% Indigenous workforce

Capability and coverage CMC Indigenous Services has both the financial and personnel resources to carry out contracts ranging from small suburban offices to multi-million dollar national contracts.

Giving back- Pathways Program Pathways Pathways is the driver program that CMC Indigenous Services will use to achieve its vision and mission. We aim to use our Pathways program as an avenue to achieve: Pathways to reconciliation and understanding. Pathways to working together. Our Pathways objectives are: Education – learning, understanding and celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and sharing our knowledge with our customers, partners and suppliers. Engagement – through our own and aligned partner programs, engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities particularly in RIPP regions. Employment – establishing education, training and employment opportunities through our Pathways Life Skills Program. Opportunity – support and encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander owned and operated businesses. Pathways Life Skills Program In an effort to give back to the community, the purpose of the Pathways Life Skills Program is to give disadvantaged members of the community an opportunity to learn cleaning, maintenance and administrative skills and give them the tools and on-the-job training to seek employment.
