Prepping for Brainstorming If you plan on having a partner, group brainstorming is best, if not then individual brainstorming should suffice Find a quite distraction free place in which you can brainstorm

Golden 4 Strategies for Brainstorming More is better, quantity or quality. Don’t criticize yourself, no matter how bizarre the idea sounds. I find it helpful to embrace different ideas as this has helped me to have Eureka moments in the past. Implement speed thinking. I like to spend 1 minute intervals thinking on a topic. Which route to take with seo? Its better to work bottom up with organic seo. Very difficult to rank for short to mid tail keywords Scenario changes when doing pay per click, its not a bad idea to temporary target short to mid tail keywords in order to get more impressions

Seed Keywords are What You Need These are the base keywords you’ll use to describe your future site These are typically popular keywords with lots of searches Use the keywords you collected from brainstorming as your base keywords

Lets start building the keyword list I prefer building 3 keyword lists simultaneously (its optional) It takes work, but beneficial. You’ll discover some niches are just too saturated Use a combination of the keyword tools that we discussed in month one to maximize your chances of finding quality keywords

Plug in keywords In KP plug in the keywords you gathered from your brainstorming and then select the keyword groups that closely match your interests You can do this by selecting “add to plan” Once you selected all the keywords you want download as excel csv. Name it something meaningful

Plug in keywords Cont… Repeat process in smaller search engines. Don’t worry about duplicates, we’ll fix this later! Repeat process in Bing. Maximum # of keywords to enter is 10. Export keywords to csv file Repeat process in 7search. Must enter in keywords one at a time and then export each keyword list separately

Plug in keywords Repeat process in Yandex. Must enter keywords one at a time and then copy/paste into txt or excel file. Currently has no export feature Repeat process in soovle. Since it’s a keyword aggregator it provides no stats. Copy/paste in a separate txt or export as csv file Repeat process in Übersuggest. You must copy/paste keywords into txt or excel file

Consolidate Keyword List Open each csv file & copy keywords into one file(master file) – you could easily end up with 1000s depending on the type & quantity of seed keywords you used To find unique keywords, highlight column in excel -> Conditional Formatting -> Highlight Cells Rules -> duplicate Repeat same process but find unique keywords: highlight column in excel -> Conditional Formatting -> Highlight Cells Rules -> unique

Consolidate Keyword List When you’re copying/pasting make sure to exclude extraneous keywords. Try to categorize and group the keywords together as best as possible Copy & paste unique keywords into new excel file Copy and paste one of the duplicate keywords into the excel file
