Welcome to St. Peter! We welcome you to the house of our true and living God for worship this Fifteenth Sunday after our Lord’s Pentecost as we continue a four week series of services under the theme, “The Believer Hears Jesus’ Warnings…” In today’s gospel lesson Jesus warns his followers that those who exalt themselves in this life will be humbled in the life to come. So today’s hymns, prayers and readings from the Bible emphasize how the Christian’s life is one of humility and humble service to the Lord and each other, motivated by the changeless love and grace of Jesus!

OUR COMMUNION PRACTICE In the Sacrament of Holy Communion, we express unity with our Savior and those who share our faith and stand on the teachings of God’s Word. Therefore, we invite to our altar those who are members of St. Peter or members of the WELS/ELS. Visitors who wish to commune are asked to speak to a pastor before the service begins.

Sunday JAM Beginning Sunday, September 11 th all children ages 3 – 6th grade are encouraged to participate in Sunday JAM (Jesus And Me) between services. Parents, there is no need to register ahead of time; just bring your children on the first day!

Youth Catechism Instruction Catechism classes for students in Grades 6-8 who are home or public schooled will have their first class on September 7 th at 7:00 pm in the lower level of the Office. An Orientation Meeting will be held on Sunday, August 28th, after the late service for any new families, e.g. 6th grade students.

Sharing Jesus With Others A new Bible Information Class will begin at Key to Life at 6:30 pm on Monday, August 29 th Informational flyers are available from the kiosk in the entryway at church.

Handbells Start A New Season!  St. Peter Handbell Choirs are gearing up for another season or praise and worship through music.  Contact Debi Traeder if you want to learn more.

Singers Arise St. Peter Senior Choir moves back into action starting Wednesday, September 7 th at 7:00 pm. If you can carry a tune, come join us on Wednesdays in the lower level of our church.

Men’s Club  Opening night for another year!  Monday, August 29 at 6:00pm  Meet in the church kitchen.  Supper is served by John Gut and Mark Frailing. The door prize will be provided by Russ Stahnke.
