PSSA Testing All PA 3 rd grade students will be required to take the PSSA tests in the spring. We will begin preparing for these tests after the winter holiday. Various resources will be used to help familiarize students with test format and test-taking strategies.

Assignment Books (Agendas)  Please be sure to check and sign these agendas on a daily basis.  If an assignment is listed, please sign or initial the agenda when the homework has been completed and checked.  I check these books every morning for assignments and signatures.

Homework Homework will generally be given 4 nights a week. Assignments will review previously taught material. All homework is due the next day unless noted otherwise. In order to aid their academic success, it is in your child’s best interest that homework be completed nightly and returned to school the next day.

Test Return All graded assignments/tests will be sent home. There will be a note if it needs to be signed and returned. Review your child’s work with them. Praise them for their successes. Encourage them if they didn’t do as well as they wanted. Use it as a learning, growing experience by asking, “What could you have done to improve your grade?”

Attendance New regulations require anyone with more than 9 absences (3 tardies = 1 absence) to be reported to district office. Excuse cards must be returned within 3 days or it is counted as an unexcused absence. Work missed during the day can be sent home with another student or can be picked up in the office. It is extremely important for students to be in school every day unless they are ill.
